Day of Action: City of Cohasset

Day of Action is an annual day of service sponsored by United Way of 1000 Lakes. Drawing more than 100 volunteers of all skillsets together each year, Day of Action is the largest of United Way’s volunteer initiatives.

The day will begin at 8 a.m. with volunteer check-in at the Cohasset City Hall. Volunteers will sign a waiver, receive their project assignment, and get a brief safety orientation. Following check-in, volunteers will report to their project site. Restrooms, first aid, water, and snacks will be available on site.

Event Schedule
8:00 AM – Volunteer Check-in & Project Assignment 
8:30 AM – Kickoff Rally: Safety Briefing & Energizing Team-building Activity
9:00 AM – Morning Project Session Begins 
11:15 PM – Afternoon Check-in & Assignments
11:30 AM – Lunch served at the Cohasset Community Center
12:30 PM – Afternoon Project Session Begins
3:00 PM – Day of Action Wrap-up

Volunteers of all ages are invited to sign up to volunteer. Youth under age 16 should be accompanied by an adult. 

Proposed projects include vaious painting projects, cleaning, and landscaping to park enhancements and trail signage in the City’s parks and area trails.

Volunteers can sign up for a full- or half-day shift. Lunch and bottled water will be provided, and volunteers will have access to restrooms.

Have any special skills? If you're skilled in painting, gardening, landscaping, or something else, let us know by emailing the Opportunity Coordinator. 

Signing up a team? If you're signing up your workplace, community organization, or group of friends, use the "Sign up with a team" option and input the name and email address of each team member.

Rain Date:
If the weather is bad enough to prevent projects from taking place, Day of Action will be postponed to Wednesday, June 18th. If the call is made to postpone, you will receive an email notification by the morning of the 17th.
