Winter Adventure Family Fun Day

Volunteer and Celebrate Winter at the Forest History Center!

We’re gearing up for a spectacular Winter Celebration on Saturday, February 22nd, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and we need your help to make it an unforgettable day!

From close encounters with live birds of prey to sleigh rides, fat tire bike adventures, and hatchet throwing, this event is packed with fun—and volunteers are the key to its success.

Volunteer Opportunities:

• Wrist Rocket Range: Help visitors take aim and have a blast.
• Snow Snake Races: Facilitate exciting races at this fun station.
• Snow Snake Painting: Assist guests in designing and painting their own snow snakes.
• Snowshoe Assistance: Help participants gear up and enjoy the trails.
• Sliding Hill Supervision: Keep everyone safe while they have a sliding good time.
• Indoor Craft Station: Guide guests in creating winter-themed crafts.
• Welcome Table: Be the friendly face greeting visitors as they arrive.

Most activities are outdoors, so please dress warmly for your shift. For those who prefer indoor roles, the Welcome Table and craft station will be inside the Visitor Center.

Flexible Schedule:
Volunteer for one shift or multiple—whatever works for you! If the listed times don’t align with your availability, let us know, and we’ll work with you to find a time that fits.

As a thank-you, all volunteers and their families can enjoy the event free of charge!
