Lasagna Love - Local Leader

Local Leader is a volunteer position which usually takes about 2-10 hours a week, depending on how familiar you are with technology and depending on the size of your region. If your region ever gets too large, we can always recruit another Local Leader  and split the district.

IN AN LOCAL LEADER ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Engage in outreach to expand our reach. On Fridays/Saturdays you will post in local Facebook groups to spread the world about Lasagna Love to help generate more volunteers and requests for the coming week. You will also find other ways to help spread the word within your communities.
  • Manage matching. On Tuesdays, or sometimes Monday evenings, you will log into the portal to review and approve matches for the week. Our new optimizer makes this part of the job super easy so that you can focus more of your efforts on outreach, with the goal of feeding as many families as possible.
  • Be a resource for your Lasagna Chefs. Throughout the week, you'll likely get emails from the LCs in your area. You are their go-to person for questions but don't worry - you will have a Regional Director to go to with your own questions. Some Regional Leaders also choose to keep their LCs connected with regional Facebook groups, monthly Zoom meetings, and/or any other methods of helping volunteers feel engaged.
