Opportunity Details

PlayStation Ambassador

Monitor a PlayStation to help make it possible for local children (and adults!) to live active, healthy lifestyles. 5-2-1-0 PlayStations, installed in community parks in and around Itasca County, are equipped with sporting gear and park art supplies for community members to use - like a lending library. Park visitors are encouraged to use the contents of the boxes to play, make new friends, and even come up with new games. When they are finished, PlayStation users are expected to return the equipment to the box for the next visitor to enjoy.

In order to continue making PlayStations available to Itasca area communities, we need ambassadors to help us monitor, manage, and take care of PlayStations! PlayStation Ambassadors are expected to check up on PlayStations at least once a month, April/May through September/October. Volunteers will lightly clean PlayStations, monitor the conditions, and inventory the contents. Whenever contents are low, damaged, or need attention, volunteers should contact United Way to replace items or fix damaged equipment.

Adopting a PlayStation is a low-commitment way to make an impact in your community - and a great way to introduce children to volunteering! PlayStations are located in the following locations:

  • McGarry Park – Bigfork
  • Portage Park – Cohasset
  • Longyear Park – Coleraine
  • Lion’s Park – Deer River
  • Ryan Flood Memorial Park – Grand Rapids

Express interest to learn more about becoming a PlayStation volunteer or setting up a rotating schedule for your organization or faith or volunteer group.
