Health and Hygiene Drive
Each spring, United Way of 1000 Lakes hosts an annual Health and Hygiene Drive to collect essential toiletries and other small items to help children and adults with basic needs. With the economic impact of COVID-19, even more people are finding that they need to make tough choices – between buying laundry detergent and having food for breakfast, or between filling the car up with gas and buying a pair of shoes. Necessities provided through our personal care drive can help relieve some of the burden. Much needed items include laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, gas cards, toothbrushes, FULL-SIZE toothpaste, hair care products, deodorant, laundry detergent, band-aids, diapers, baby wipes, menstrual products, new washcloths, and hand and bath towels.
Items will be assembled into care packages and distributed to children, veterans, elderly, homeless and vulnerable populations throughout United Way’s service area of Itasca County and surrounding communities.
