AmeriCorps Promise Fellow

United Way of 1000 Lakes is currently seeking candidates to serve as a full-time Americorps Promise Fellow position in the Greenway schools for the 2021-2022 school year. The Promise Fellow will work directly with students, teachers, and parents in and out of a school setting.

AmeriCorps Promise Fellows help ensure at-risk middle and high school youth success by connecting young people to caring adults, service-learning opportunities, and high-quality academic supports. Using an array of research-based approaches, they track attendance, monitor behaviors, and support academic growth. Through this evidence-based model, Promise Fellows are able to provide the right support to the right youth at the right time for the right intensity and duration.

Full-time AmeriCorps members serve at least 1,720 hours during their term of service between September 1, 2021 and July 31, 2022. Benefits include a modest living allowance (approx. $1,248/month); food support; transportation support; health and dental insurance offered at no cost to members; qualified childcare assistance; qualified federal student loan forbearance and Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program eligibility; a $5,920 Education Award upon successful completion of service; and ongoing, extensive support and training. All interested applicants should review the Minnesota Alliance with Youth website prior to applying.
